A luxury self-catering cottage midway between the remote picturesque village of Tayvallich which curves around a lagoon at the head of Loch Sween, and Carsaig Bay which commands breathtaking views of the Sound of Jura on the West of Mainland Scotland. Tayvallich and Carsaig are separated by some 15 nautical miles by sea but by only one mile by road. Carsaig and Tayvallich are part of the same close-knit but highly cosmopolitan and friendly community of some 200 people. We are, however, only two hours drive from Glasgow Airport.

Charming cottage for two in a lovely setting with garden running right down to Tayvallich Bay with its own little jetty, slipway and the use of a mooring if required.

The cottage retains the original beamed ceiling and Victorian fire place in the sitting room, dining kitchen, sitting room with full sized double wall bed and shower room.

WATERSIDE is a spacious, modern, detached bungalow situated at the quiet end of the village and next door to Smithy Cottage. Most rooms enjoy panoramic views of the bay and beyond, and the gardens lead down to the water’s edge. There is an excellent new private slipway for launching boats, and a rowing dinghy is provided for the use of guests. A mooring can sometimes be made available if required..

Waterside is an ideal base for sailing, canoeing and other watersports. The area around Tayvallich has a wide variety of walks to suit all ages and abilities, and is renowned for it’s wildlife and archaeological sites.

Welcome to Leachive Caravan Park , situated on the water-front as you enter Tayvallich.

This is a small, family run park with static caravans overlooking the bay. There are spaces for touring caravans, motor homes and tents at the top of the site. Electric hook-ups, modern toilet block with showers and dish washing facilities with ample hot water are available.

Tayvallich is a small fishing village on the shores of Loch Sween. The bay is a haven for boats of all kinds and a very safe environment for young children learning rowing and sailing. One mile away is Carsaig Bay , which has a nice sandy beach (when the tide is out) and is a great place for children to play and swim

 

Auchenbeag Bed and Breakfast enjoys an elevated position on what was crofting land known as Auchentenavil - the grazing close to the village.

Auchenbeag - small field - is set on a wooded promontory on the south side of Tayvallich harbour.

We enjoy views of Tayvallich Harbour, Loch Sween and the edge of Taynish oak woodland.

From the sun rise over Loch Sween to the sunset over Jura in the west, the light gives changing colour all day. Bring your camera and binoculars!
